Sharmila Samant

Sharmila Samant deals with issues of globalization, identity and consumer culture. She was selected to the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Gasworks Residency, London, UK. She was the co-founder of the Mumbai-based collective, Open Circle. Over the years, her installations and video works have been part of many important exhibitions in India and abroad. Samant has engaged with various communities through public art projects and has been part of several cross-cultural curatorial initiatives.
