TV Santhosh
TV Santhosh completed his BFA, specializing in sculpture, from Shantiniketan
in 1994. He then received his MFA from M.S. University, Vadodara in
1997. Santhosh has received numerous awards and recognition for his
work, including a National Scholarship and an INLAK Foundation Scholarship.
Santhosh’s art is centered on the exploration of present day crises.
He frequently uses imagery from mainstream media to create bold works
examining themes of war, terrorism and the global socio-political
environment.
His solo shows include ‘Burning Flags’ at the Aicon Gallery in collaboration
with The Guild Gallery of Mumbai, New York and London (2010 ‘A Room
to Pray’ at Avanthay Contemporary, Zurich (2008). His group shows
include ‘In Transition: New Art from India’ at the Richmond Art Gallery,
Richmond, BC, Canada (2010); ‘Expressions at Tihar,’ Ojas Art, New
Delhi (2009); ‘In the Mood for Paper’ at F2 Gallery, Beijing (2009);
and ‘India Xianzai: Contemporary Indian Art’ at the Museum of Contemporary
Art (MOCA), Shanghai (2009).
